gansoft.ch/inletwatch — Florida Inlet Check

This page covers the website only. For the Florida Inlet Watch app, see the app privacy policy.

No account, no sign-in, no cookies, no advertising and no third-party trackers. The live data shown in Florida Inlet Check (NWS advisories and forecasts, NOAA tides) is loaded by your browser directly from api.weather.gov and api.tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov; the inlet map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap and NOAA. As with any web request, those servers see your IP address, under their own privacy policies.

Website statistics

The pages of gansoft.ch/inletwatch (the home page, Florida Inlet Check and the download page) count visits, so we know which inlets people look at and where visitors come from. This is anonymous: no cookie, nothing stored in your browser, no identifier, and no IP address is stored. Each event is one line with:

There is no country, no location, no full address of the page you came from, and nothing that links one visit to another. The data stays on our web host, is never shared or sold, and is deleted after 14 months. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, the pages send nothing at all. Our web host may still record the IP address of any request in its standard server logs, as for every website; we do not use them for statistics.
